About Us

The Paper Cup Recovery & Recycling Group is an alliance of the companies and organisations involved in the supply chain of paper cups used throughout the UK.

The group was formed in 2007 to encourage the recovery of used paper cups and address any issues in the recycling of these cups into valuable new materials and/or energy. Members of the group span the full length of the route a cup follows from manufacture of the basic paper material through to the cup of coffee that is on your desk, and beyond.

The group aims to open up a series of options for recycling, rather than a single dedicated route, and intends that individual circumstances at the point where the cup comes to the end of its life should be the key factors in determining the optimal route for recycling.
