1. Why do the lids need to be removed before the paper cup can be recycled?

Answers

1. Some paper recycling mills do not have the processing equipment that is required to separate out the plastic lid from the paper cup. The plastic from the lid could become shredded during the processing and contaminate the valuable pulp fibres.
